Off Duty Astronauts are a five member Twin Cities band playing an array of rock/dance tunes that cover modern, alternative, 90’s, 80’s and earlier with surprises splashed in. Our vibe is nonstop cool tunes that jam and build, leading you to the dance floor. We play every note live with no backing tracks.
We are all over the map with songs from The Black Keys, The Violent Femmes, The Pretenders, The White Stripes, AC/DC, Amy Winehouse, Weezer, Johnny Cash, The Pixies, many more. Sorry… no Mustang Sally but we will hit some sweet classics that aren’t covered to death and even throw in some that will sure to be your new guilty pleasure.
We are always building our library to keep it fresh and to keep you guessing what’s next so no two shows are exactly the same.

Rob O’Hara Graff (Guitar) – (Lucid Dream Weaver) East coast transplant playing since the space shuttle Challenger.Connected with instruction from top players through Music Tech (McNally Smith), The West Bank School of Music, and Macphail. Cover band highlights include Rock Soup, Blu Iris, August Winfield, 5th Street Bridge, Dirty Code & founding member of ODA. Influenced greatly by the soul of all music. Robs says that music ” runs deep, is better than it sounds, and life would be a mistake without it.” Rob is a mystery wrapped in an enigma that we can’t get enough of!
Pam Zwiefel (Lead Vocals) – (Retro Futurist) Pam has been singing since she learned to talk but never imagined that she would do it in front of people, she is a bit camera shy and would prefer to have her back to the audience but “Sia jacked that idea.” Pam started as an original founding member of ODA in 2015 pretty much on a dare. She is a bit of an adrenaline junkie now from all of the space missions and rocketeering around. Pam is looking to scare herself to death in her off duty time and professes to “always do this forever”.
Doug Lewis (Guitar) – (Humble Bragger) Doug has been making music for over 40 years (though his mother would disagree). Doug joined his first band (Smuj’D) in 2013 followed by ODA in 2016. Doug claims to be the “Worlds Okayest Guitar Player” but we know he’s humble and awesome! Also, Doug prides himself on being an inch taller than Ryan.
N. David “Dave” Teegarden (Bass) – (Unsocial Network Expert) Dave still thinks that going by first initial plus middle name makes him seem artistic and not at all pretentious. Dave has played in Garage Orphans, Outlaw Saint, Flush-O-Matics, the Blockheaters, and the Flying Fingers. Dave brings a calm, quiet genius to our group.
Ryan Hegland (Drums) – (Gentle Giant) Ryan is 6’4”, 10 ½ shoe, Blue Eyes, & a Pisces. Drummer since birth, started taking lessons at 9, played through school, went to Music Tech (now known as McNally Smith), rockin’ ever since!! Past bands include: Stupid Jerk, The Mojo’s, Inertia/Talisman, New Type Thing, Sather Ash, Planet Rock, Lake Sara Band, The Kelly Austin Band, SMUJ’D/Drop The Axe, Outlaw Saint, Garage Orphans. Favorite Bands (select list):Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Crowes, Fountains of Wayne, Oasis, Cold Kingdom, Tool, P-Funk, Stevie Wonder, Rolling Stones, My Memory Remains, Half Moon Devil . We love him and are looking into trying to get him cloned and frozen!
